Text PDFs versus scanned PDFs
A text-based PDF already contains selectable characters, which can be extracted into a Word document. A scanned PDF may contain only images of pages, so optical character recognition (OCR) may be needed to detect the text.
What formatting is retained?
This converter focuses on producing editable text. Original fonts, columns, embedded images, complex tables and precise page positioning may not transfer to the DOCX. Review the Word document after conversion, especially when working with forms or multi-column layouts.
